The Deputy Director of Nursing will act as a professional and clinical leader in supporting the DON with the development of nursing practice and standards, clinical pathways and care delivery models to ensure that patients, their relatives and carers have a positive experience when assessing and receiving care /services from the hospital and to ensure the overall hospital performance meets national key performance indicators. As part of the hub and spoke model with Beaumont Hospital, Connolly Hospital has an established Consultant led Dermatology service for Dublin North East. The Hospital now wishes to establish a nurse led service which will enhance the work and improve the patient outcomes of our current dermatology service which includes supporting the management and care of patients with skin cancers, chronic inflammatory skin diseases and other skin conditions in line with the National Clinical Programme for Dermatology- A model of care for Ireland, February 2021.
The pre-assessment service manages the elective patient cohort prior to their admission into hospital. The aim is to assess 100% of patients prior to their elective surgery.
Many Patients will be reviewed in anaesthetic and nurse led clinics, where they will be assessed for their fitness for surgery and tests and investigations will be completed within those clinics. Education and information is provided to patients at these appointments.
The Dietitian Clinical Specialist (Obesity) will:
- The Specialist Dietitian is responsible for the nutrition and dietetic management of patients living with complex obesity requiring weight management, pharmacotherapy, or surgical interventions.
- Act as a resource and provide expert opinion, advice and guidance to dietetic colleagues and other healthcare professionals.

To provide assessment, evaluation, counselling and psychological intervention as appropriate to individuals, couples and families who present with addiction related issues.
To provide line management supervision to counselling staff and support staff
