- The Post holder will support and advise the Hospital Group to build an effective adult safeguarding delivery system - The Post holder will support the Hospital Group to promote a strong adult safeguarding working culture and work closely with the national safeguarding office  in the roll out of the new policy, and the development of guidance and promotion of adult safeguarding in a wider context - The Post holder will take a lead on education and training developments in the area of adult safeguarding in the Hospital Group and the context of the implementation of an education programme for the existing safeguarding practice and structures and any revised HSE adult safeguarding policy - Lead in the development & collation of relevant training metrics and KPI’s - The Post holder as required take a lead role on quality and practice matters and other related service developments/initiatives in the area of adult safeguarding. - The Post holder will as required to develop guidance, support materials, and support the roll out of guidance developed by National Safeguarding Office, NSO about Adult Safeguarding across the Hospital Group - The Post holder will lead on building the support structure to effectively implement the revised HSE Adult Safeguarding Policy across the Hospital Group - The Post holder will offer support, guidance and advice on social work practice matters and wider safeguarding issues to a range of relevant stakeholders and services across the Hospital Group and build effective relationships with existing social work staff in the hospital Group and national safeguarding Office.

The post of CNM 2 has a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The posts will cover clinical site management for Cavan General Hospital.    There are currently 2.5 permanent positions available in Cavan and Monaghan Hospital.   A panel may be created from this campaign for Cavan & Monaghan Hospital, RCSI Hospital Group from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full time or part time duration may be filled.   Purpose of the post: - The ADON (Clinical Site Manager) is responsible for overseeing the management of safe, efficient patient care within the hospital on a 24 hour basis 7 days per week. - This role oversees the management of the hospital out of hours including evenings, nights and weekends with varied shift times. The post involves internal rotation from days to nights. - The post-holder may be required to rotate into a Directorate ADON post if and as required in line with service need. - The ADON (Clinical Site Manager) will work in close partnership with the Directorate ADONs ensuring seamless leadership and management of nursing and HCA resources on a continual basis. - The ADON (Clinical Site Manager) may be responsible for patient flow management out of core hours including evenings, weekends and is responsible for patient flow management at night. - The ADON (Clinical Site Manager) will ensure that the nursing / HCA workforce is supported and deployed to meet the needs of patient care and the service on a day to day basis. - The ADON (Clinical Site Manager) plays a vital role in contributing to the Nursing service plan, Directorate Service Plans and Corporate Strategy. - As part of the out of hours role, the ADON will also have responsibility for Women’s and Children’s Services, including maternity services.

The purpose of this post is to oversee and prepare/serve freshly cooked /cooked chilled meals to clients and staff in accordance with policies and statutory standards i.e HIQA standards in respect of the nutritional and hydration policy and ensuring compliance with HACCP.   The post holder will be working as part of a team reporting to and supporting the Catering Manager, Catering Officer and deputising in their absence. The post will supervise Senior Chefs, Chefs Grade II, and catering attendants in the performance of their duties and in compliance with local and statutory standards.   The Catering Department is responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of food for all patients and staff in Cavan General Hospital campus. Cavan General Hospital Catering Department provides meals to: - all inpatients - (265 beds in total) including medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, oncology, renal dialysis and psychiatric patients - mental health services - staff/public restaurant - community care meals  Patient meals are served five times a day, 365 days a year, which consists of breakfast, lunch, hot evening meal and supper.   The restaurant is open to staff and the public 365 days a year.  The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks throughout the day.   We also cater for two offsite units: - 365 days of the year unit. This meal service is delivered every day of the year. - Monday – Friday unit, with a meal service and food stores, which are delivered to the unit.  The department is currently catering for 1580 meals per day.   At present the Catering Department comprising of 57 staff - 1 Catering Manager,1 Catering Officer, 6 Chefs and 50 Catering Attendants.

The staff Grade post will particapte in the staff grade rotational program which allows for their professional development and enfancement of clinical skills in a wide range of area’s such as surgery, acute medicine, paediatrics, stroke, elderly and oncology. - Provide a dietetic service to acute hospital adult inpatients on general medical wards and outpatient clinic. - Be an active member of the Staff Grade Rottational Programme. - Attend a weekly MDT meeting and case conference meetings as required. - Provide a service when required to: cardiac rehab programmes, general surgery, diabetes, gestational diabetes education sessions, older person’s rehab and acute medical assessment with support from senior dietitians. - Operate as the dept. Link person with the catering dept and support services.
