Health Service Executive – Dublin and North East Region

There is one initial permanent whole-time vacancy available.  The post holder will be based in the Estates Department, Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.

A panel may be created on foot of this campaign for Maintenance Foreman, Connolly Hospital, from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full time or part time duration may be filled.

Candidates must by the latest date for receipt of completed application forms for the post possess:

1. Professional Qualifications, Experience etc.

• (i) Hold a third level qualification to a minimum standard of Higher Certificate (Quality and Qualifications Ireland Level 6), in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Services

or

(ii) Have successfully served a recognised apprenticeship of not less than four years and qualified as a Craftsman as recognised by the Irish Standards Authority ETB (Education and Training Board)

and

(b)  Have 5 years satisfactory post qualification / apprenticeship experience of maintaining industrial / commercial buildings, of which 2 years experience must be in the management of a maintenance team.

2. Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

3. Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

Post Specific Requirements

• Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in electrical, mechanical and building maintenance, in an industrial setting, as relevant to the role.
• Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in the installation of new equipment, in an industrial setting, as relevant to the role.
• As this post will involve the driving of HSE owned vehicles, the successful candidate is required to hold a full clean Drivers Licence (Category B, E).
