Overview

  • To be responsible for the provision of a high-quality Physiotherapy Neurology and Stroke service in accordance with standards of professional practice
  • To be a key member of the interdisciplinary team, acting as a senior decision-maker to organise, co-ordinate and develop the Neurology service in Our Lady of Lourdes, to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation
  • To work with the Physiotherapy Manager and relevant stakeholders in ensuring the co-ordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centred physiotherapy service across and between networks in the geographical area
  • To support Physiotherapy team members in the development of associated rehabilitation pathways including trauma pathways, and provide expert assessment and intervention or consultation

Essential Criteria

Candidates must have at the latest date of application:

 

 Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience

(a) Candidates for appointment must:

 

  • Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapist Registration Board at CORU

AND

 

(ii)        Have three years’ full time (or an aggregate of three years’ full time) post qualification clinical experience

 

AND

 

(iii)       Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

 

AND

 

(iv)       Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.

 

  1. Annual registration

 

(i)         On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU

AND

 

(ii)        Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC). 

 

 

Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

 

Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

 

Note* Individuals who qualified before 30th September 2018 and are registered or have

applied for registration under Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act,

2025, must hold Physiotherapy qualifications approved by CORU in order to be eligible to

Section 91 candidates are individuals who qualified before 30th September 2018 and have

been engaged in the practice of the profession in the Republic of Ireland for a minimum of 2

years full (or an aggregate of 2 years fulltime), between 1st October 2016 and 30th September

2018 are considered to be Section 91 applicants under the Health and Social Care

Professionals Act, 2005.
