Based in Our Lady’s Hospital Navan-on behalf of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda, Co. Louth

• The appointee will work as part of a team who decontaminate and sterilise instrument sets and flexible scopes.
• To undertake decontamination duties and assist in providing specialised decontamination of medical devices including but not limited to surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes, contributing to the clinical care of the patient.
• To carry out the collection and delivery, receipt, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, reassembly, packing and disinfection and or sterilization of reusable medical devices and supporting duties.
• Record all tasks using the tracking and tracing systems within the department.
• Work in accordance with the Department’s Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.
• The role involves exposure to blood and body fluids.

A panel may be formed upon completion of this campaign for full time/part time, permanent/temporary posts in Our Lady's Hospital Navan - On behalf of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Co Louth

Candidates must on the latest date of application:

1. a) Possess Level 6 Minor Award in RIMD Decontamination 

Or

1. b) Hold a QQI Level 5(Fetac Level 5) in Health Care Support or QQI 5(Fetac Level 5) in Healthcare Skills Programme

and

Commit to undertake Level 6 Minor Award in RIMD Decontamination (managers will schedule accordingly) 

Or

1. c) Hold a relevant health care qualification at least equivalent to (b) or above.

and

Commit to undertake Level 6 Minor Award in RIMD Decontamination (managers will schedule accordingly)  

And 

1. d) Candidates must have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
