Overview

The CNM2 for Admitted patients in the Emergency Department has a pivotal role in the safe management of admitted patients. The CNM2 plays a key role in planning, co-ordinating, and managing activities and resources.

 

This role will develop in line with service needs as defined by the Director of Nursing and on-going service developments within the Hospital group.

Organisational Context

The HSE has created six new health regions. Each region is responsible for providing both hospital and community care for the people in that area. Bringing community health services and hospitals together means we can take a more patient-centred approach to healthcare.

 

HSE Dublin and North East provides health and social care to North Dublin, Louth, Meath,

Monaghan and most areas of Cavan.

 

HSE Dublin and North East Region includes the following hospitals;

  • Connolly Hospital
  • Louth County Hospital
  • National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh
  • Monaghan General Hospital

  • Rotunda Hospital

Essential Criteria

Candidates must on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:

 

  • Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered.

And

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience, 2 of which must have been in the speciality area.

And

  • Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role

 

      And

  Candidate must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.

And

Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability capacity to properly discharge the function of the role.

 

Post Specific Requirements:

  • Demonstrate depth and breadth  of experience in the supervision and co-ordination of care  to Emergency department  patients .
  • A flexible approach to working hours is required to meet the service needs.
