The Outpatients Department will continue to evolve in line with HSE strategic priorities, national policies and the principles of Slaintecare to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.
The Out-Patient Clinical Nurse Manager will be required to maintain and establish effective working relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders within the hospital, community and wider HSE network to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of out-patient services.
The purpose of this post is to provide professional and operational leadership for the Outpatients Department, ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe and efficient patient care across all specialities.
The nurse manager will lead the nursing and non-nursing teams to achieve excellence in service delivery, patient experience and staff engagement in line with HSE policies and National standards.
This role will develop in line with service needs as defined by the Director of Nursing and ongoing service developments within the Hospital group.
A temporary and permanent panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

1. Professional Qualifications & Experience, etc.
a)
(i) Be registered in the relevant Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered.
And
(ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience of which 2 must be in the acute Hospital setting, ambulatory nursing or related area.
And
(iii) Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
And
b) Possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
2. Annual Registration
(i) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).
And
(ii) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
3. Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
