• The post holder will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of financial management across the Dublin and North East Health Region.  
• To support the Regional Director of Finance and IHA Managers in improving compliance with National Financial Regulations (NFRs). 
• To play a key analytical role for the Region in co-ordinating efforts to assess, establish, monitor and continuously improve the system of internal financial controls. 
• Provide leadership to Regional Finance staff. 
• Playing a lead role for the Region in relation to Finance Reform work-streams and key projects. 

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: 

Have not less than three years satisfactory experience at a grade not lower than that of a Grade VII or equivalent, 

AND 

Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office. 

Health 

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.  

Character 

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
