Overview

The CNM2 OPAT will lead and coordinate the Outpatient Antimicrobial Therapy service at Louth Hospitals as part of the multidisciplinary infection team. The post-holder will provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, families and healthcare professionals, ensuring safe, evidence-based delivery of OPAT/CoPAT in line with national guidelines. They will coordinate patient care across inpatient and outpatient pathways, contribute to policy and guideline development, promote antimicrobial stewardship, and participate in audit, data collection and service evaluation to enhance quality of care.

The HSE has created six new health regions. Each region is responsible for providing both hospital and community care for the people in that area. Bringing community health services and hospitals together means we can take a more patient-centred approach to healthcare.

 

HSE Dublin and North East provides health and social care to North Dublin, Louth, Meath,

Monaghan and most areas of Cavan.

Essential Criteria

Candidates must on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:

 

Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered.

 

And

 

Have a minimum of five years’ post-registration experience, at least three of which must be in an acute care setting

 

And

 

Have completed, be currently undertaking, or demonstrate a willingness to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma (or higher qualification). The applicant must also demonstrate relevant and ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

 

Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role

 

And

Age

Age restriction shall only apply to a candidate where s/he is not classified as a new entrant (within the meaning of the Public Service Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2004). A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 65 years of age on the first day of the month in which the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office occur    

 

Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

 

Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

 

Note1: Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher level papers. A pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable.  Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational programme.  The Leaving Certification Applied Programme does not fulfil the eligibility criteria.
