The primary role of the CNM II will be one of clinical and professional leadership in the Patient Flow department.
The CNM II will demonstrate a high level of skill and competency to aid the efficient, effective care and streamlining of patients through the hospital. The CNM II will be accountable for ensuring that the decision making process is effective and will be responsible for the optimal use of bed capacity in the hospital.
This post will involve the co-ordination and management of activity and resources within the hospital, including overseeing all admissions, scheduled, unscheduled and all discharges and transfers to and from the hospital. The CNM II will work closely with the Patient Flow Discharge Coordinators to expedite the discharge process.
The CNM II will work alongside the Director of Unscheduled Care to ensure local and national KPI’s in relation to PET and national metrics are achieved.

Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwifes maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann)
(i) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Age restrictions shall only apply to a candidate where he/she is not classified as a new entrant (within the meaning of the Public Service Superannuation Act, 2004). A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 65 years of age on the first day of the month in which the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office occurs.
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
