Overview

The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2) has a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The post holder will ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care, while supporting the strategic objectives of the organisation.

 

This role will develop in line with service needs as defined by the Director of Nursing and ongoing service developments within the Hospital group.

 

A temporary and permanent panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

The HSE has created six new health regions. Each region is responsible for providing both hospital and community care for the people in that area. Bringing community health services and hospitals together means we can take a more patient-centred approach to healthcare.

 

HSE Dublin and North East provides health and social care to North Dublin, Louth, Meath,

Monaghan and most areas of Cavan.

The Respiratory Ward is a 31-bedded unit located in the Newgrange Block of the hospital. The ward provides specialist care to patients with a broad range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. The ward has expertise in Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) and specialist ventilation in the management of respiratory disease. It is also the designated hospital ward for the management of acute COVID-19 patients presenting with respiratory symptoms or complications, particularly those requiring NIV.

Essential Criteria

Candidates must on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:

 

Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered.

 

And

 

Have a minimum of five years’ post-registration experience, at least two of which must be in the specialty area of Respiratory Care.

 

And

 

Have completed, be currently undertaking, or demonstrate a willingness to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma (or higher qualification) in Respiratory Nursing. The applicant must also demonstrate relevant and ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

 

And

 

Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
