Overview

The Senior Physiotherapist will:

  • Be responsible for the provision of a high quality physiotherapy service on the inpatient Maternity and Gynaecology wards, and pelvic health outpatient service, in accordance with standards of professional practice.
  • Work in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the population it serves, in line with the objectives of the organisation
  • Work with the Physiotherapy Manager in ensuring the co-ordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centred physiotherapy service across and between networks in the geographical area.
  • Carry out clinical and educational duties as required

 

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled

 

Essential Criteria

Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience

 

  • Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.

AND

(ii)   Candidates must have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years full time) post qualification clinical experience, this must include a minimum of six months Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Physiotherapy experience.

                                                        AND

  • Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.

 

 

 Professional Development and Practice

 

  • Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development

 

  • Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

 

 

 

  1. Annual registration

(i)         On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU

AND

(ii)        Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

 

 

  1. Health

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

 

Character

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

 

Post Specific Criteria

 

  • Candidate must demonstrate depth and breadth of experience of recent working in acute pelvic health services
  • Candidates must demonstrate relevant CPD in the area of pelvic health physiotherapy
