Overview

The purpose of the Upper GI Surgery Senior Dietitian post is to work with the Upper GI surgery team to develop, deliver and evaluate evidenced based nutritional care and pathways to ensure optimal nutritional care for patients undergoing upper GI surgery in Connolly Hospital.

Essential Criteria

Senior Upper GI Surgery Dietitian:

 

Candidates for appointment must:

 

  • Be registered, or eligible for registration, as a Dietitian by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.                                                            

And

  • Have 3 years full time (or an aggregate of 3 years full time) post qualification dietetic experience.

And

  • Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

 

And

  • Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Dietitians Register maintained by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU before the contract of employment can be issued

 

Annual Registration 

  • On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Dietitians Register maintained by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.

And

  • Practitioners confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

 

 

Post Specific 

 

Senior Upper GI Surgery Dietitian:

  • Experience in enteral and parenteral nutrition essential.
  • Ideally >6months experience in upper GI surgery.
  • Experience in home enteral nutrition desirable.
