Overview

The Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist will lead, develop and manage the Paediatric inpatient and outpatient services with specific responsibility for Paediatric Orthopaedic Triage. The post holder will work as part of the physiotherapy team and the paediatric service and relevant consultant led MDT services in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

Monaghan and most areas of Cavan.

Essential Criteria

Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience

 

  • Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.

                                                                       AND

(ii)   Have 5 years full time (or an aggregate of five years full time)  years post qualification clinical experience of which 4 years must be consecutive in the required area of specialism

 

                                                                      AND

  • Demonstrate a proven record of clinical excellence in the specialism

                                                        AND

  • Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.

 

 Professional Development and Practice

 

  • Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the required area of specialism, in the form of post-graduate qualifications or relevant courses
  • Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

 

 

 

  1. Annual registration

(i)         On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU

AND

(ii)        Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

 

 

  1. Health

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

 

Character

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

 

Post Specific:

Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in the area of Paediatric Physiotherapy, including Orthopaedic Paediatric Physiotherapy.
