The Ambulatory and Medical Directorate consists of cardiology and general medical ward areas, day services including the Outpatient Department, a JAG accredited Endoscopy Unit, the Diabetic Day Centre, Rheumatology and haematology day services (Willow Day Ward), Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and the Rapid access cardiology clinic.
The CNM 3 in the ambulatory and Medical Directorate is a key member of the Directorate Management Team supporting the Directorate ADON in providing clinical and operational leadership to support ward managers and nursing teams in providing the highest possible quality of care. The CNM 3 in will assist the Directorate ADON in the translation of the directorate priorities for all nursing and healthcare assistant (HCA) staff, with the aim is to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes and experience for patients.
The CNM 3 in Medical Directorate (Ambulatory Care) is accountable and professionally responsible to the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing.
The post holder requires an in-depth knowledge of Risk Management and Clinical Audit as well as educational, research and management skills. The post holder will be expected to liaise with multidisciplinary team members in Connolly Hospital, other partner organisations and health regions and primary care teams in the community where necessary.
