Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc

a) Candidates for appointment must hold on closing date of application:

• *Must be a 2025 Graduate or final year Student (qualifying no later than 31^st October 2025)

                                                      OR

Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapist Register maintained by the Physiotherapist Registration Board at CORU.  See attached link for current approved Physiotherapy qualifications: https://coru.ie/health-and-social-care-professionals/education/approved-qualifications/physiotherapists/

                                                    AND

• Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

(b) Annual registration

• On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU

                                                   AND

• Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

Note 1:

* 2025 undergraduate students who are due to qualify no later than 31^st October 2025 are eligible to apply.  These applicants if successful at interview will be recorded as Dormant. This means that they will remain on the panel but will not be offered any posts until they inform the Connolly Hospital HR Dept. in writing that they are in receipt of their final qualification (with recognition of this qualification from CORU where applicable).

Section 91 candidates are individuals who qualified before the 30^th September 2018 and have been engaged in the practice of the profession in the Republic of Ireland for a minimum of two years full time (or an aggregate of two years full time) between 1^st October 2016 and 30^th September 2018 are considered to be Section 91 Applicants under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act, 2005

Post Specific Requirements:

Candidate must be eligible to participate in week-end/on-call Orthopaedic & Respiratory service provision.
