Overview

The Senior Speech and Language Therapist is required to provide quality evidence based, speech and language therapy intervention for the paediatric in patient service at Our Lady of Lourdes. The successful candidate will work with MDT colleagues and engage in team based work as necessary.  

Essential Criteria

Candidates must on the closing date possess:

  • The BSc degree (Clinical Speech and Language Studies) from the university of Dublin

Or

  • The BA(Moderatorship)(Remedial Linguistics) from the University of Dublin

Or

  • The MSc in Speech and Language Therapy (Professional qualification ) from the University of Limerick

Or

  • Licentiateship from the College of Speech Therapists

Or

  • A validated Speech and Language qualification at least equivalent to the above

 

Applicants whose first language is not English and/or who have undergone their Speech and Language Therapy training through English must have achieved the following:

A Minimum score of 8.0 in the International English language Testing (IELTS)

A pass in the Clinical English Language Competence Exam (CECE)

 

A recognised dysphagia qualification as approved by CORU/ IASLT

 

Knowledge base commensurate with IASLT

 

 “Standards of Practice for Speech and Language Therapists on the Management of Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing Disorders: Working with Neonates and Babies”, 2021

 

Post Specific:

Experience of working with paediatric dysphagia to include  neonatal and infant feeding

Experience in conducting Videofluoroscopy is desirable

Relevant certifications e.g.  SOFFI, NOMAS, ARFID training is desirable
