The Physiotherapist, Clinical Specialist will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of an evidenced based, patient focused, quality Physiotherapy Service, in this specialty area.

                                                                          AND

Candidates must have five years full time [or an aggregate of five years full time] post qualification clinical experience.  Of which four years full time (or an aggregate of four years) post registration clinical experience must be in the required area of specialism.

                                                                                     AND

Demonstrate a proven record of clinical excellence in the specialism.

                                                                                   AND

Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the required area of specialism, in the form of post-graduate qualifications or relevant courses.

                                                                                   AND

Candidates must demonstrate achievement in the areas of clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching and research.

                                                                                   AND

Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.

2. Annual Registration

On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU

                                                   AND

Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC)

Post Specific Requirments

• Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in provision of physiotherapy care to individuals living with chronic diseases, including overweight or obesity.
• Depth and breadth of experience in utilising a self-management, educational or behaviour change approach as relevant to the role.
• Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in continuous professional development relevant to the required area of specialism.
• Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in an acute hospital setting as relevant to the role.
• Access to own transport as a portion of the appointees work may be carried out “off site”. This means that the appointee may, in the future, travel to CDM hubs/Primary care centres to perform duties related to the role.
