Overview

These posts are based in the Surgical Hub, and the responsibilities include accountability for delivery of direct patient care inclusive of taking an allocation of patients.

 

Senior Clinical Engineer

The Clinical Engineering Department provides a service to all wards/departments within the Hospital. The service provides for the maintenance, repair and calibration of all electro-medical equipment. This may also include installation and commissioning of new equipment.

 

Senior Pharmaceutical Technician

The Pharmacy Service supplies and monitors prescriptions and provides advice & medicines information to medical and nursing colleagues, and to patients and their carers. This includes clinically screening chemotherapy prescriptions for patients with haematological malignancies and ordering and dispensing of cytotoxic drugs for these patients.

 

Other aspects of the service include antibiotic stewardship and surveillance, outpatient dispensing to staff and to patients of the Mental Health Service, formulary management, drug protocol development, audit and quality improvement.

 

Senior Phlebotomist

To organise and supervise phlebotomy services.  

 

Senior Physiotherapist

To work in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the physiotherapy service to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation.

To be responsible for the provision of a high quality physiotherapy services in accordance with standards of professional practice.

To carry out clinical and educational duties as required.

To work with the Physiotherapy Manager in ensuring the co-ordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centred physiotherapy service across and between networks in the geographical area.

Senior Clinical Engineer
Hold as a minimum a recognised qualification at National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), Level 7 or higher, in one of the following engineering disciplines;
Electronic,
Electrical,
Instrument Physics,
Industrial Instrumentation,
Applied Physics,
Mechanical,
(Mechtronic,
Biomedical Engineering;
                                             OR
Hold a recognised qualification at least equivalent to one of the above;
                                            AND
Have a minimum of three years postgraduate satisfactory and relevant experience in an appropriate medical industrial field including at least two years in a clinical engineering
environment;
                                             AND

Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and administrative capacity) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

 

Senior Pharmaceutical Technician

 

The Pharmacuetical Technicians Diploma awarded by the University of Dublin.

                                                OR

 A PharmacyTechnicians qualification at QQI Level 6 awarded by the Dublin Institute of Technology, Athlone Institute of Technology, Letterkenny Institute of Technology or Carlow Institute of Technology

                                                OR

 The Pharmacy Services Certificate ( NVQ level 3) offered by the Irish Pharmaceutical Union

                                                OR

 Be currently employed as a Phannacy Technician in the publically funded Irish health service

                                                OR

Relevant qualification at least equivalent to (ii) or (iii)

                                               And

Have at least three years fulltime satisfactory post qualification hospital experience   

                                                And

 Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, professional knowledge and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

 

Senior Phlebotomist

Hold an accredited qualification at NQAI Level 5 or higher.

                                                 OR

Hold the Certificate in Phlebotomy form DCU/National Ambulance Training School or equivalent Phlebotomy qualification

                                                 OR

Be registered in the general division of the live register maintained by NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland)

                                                 AND

Candidates must have four year’s experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital setting.

                                                AND

Candidates must have the clinical/scientific/technical and administrative capacity to fulfil the functions of the role.

 

Senior Physiotherapist

Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
                                                 AND
Be registered on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
                                                 OR

Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, (see note 1 below*), must submit proof of application
for registration with the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. The acceptable proof is correspondence from the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU confirming their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant.
                                                AND

Candidates must have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years full time) post qualification clinical experience.
                                                AND
Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
