The purpose of this post is to provide expert, patient-centred care for individuals with a range of cardiovascular conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings. The candidate ANP will work both autonomously and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
The ANPc will also be expected to play an active role in supporting future service developments within the cardiology service. This includes contributing to the design and implementation of new care models such as:
A key component of the role will include supporting the delivery and ongoing development of a chest pain pathway, ensuring timely assessment, risk stratification, investigation, and management of patients presenting with chest pain. The ANPc will play a pivotal role in streamlining care, reducing unnecessary admissions, and improving patient flow through effective triage and evidence-based decision-making.
The development of a RANP service in Cardiology would seek to:

6.Reduce demand on the Cardiology team
7.Reduce referrals to Cardiology OPD services
The ANP will be integral to driving forward innovations in care delivery, improving outcomes, and shaping a responsive, modern cardiology service that meets the needs of the local population.
1. Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition are:
And (b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, professional and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

3. Age Age restriction shall only apply to a candidate where s/he is not classified as a new entrant (within the meaning of the Public Service Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2004). A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 65 years of age on the first day of the month in which the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office occurs.
4. Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
