The purpose of the job is to provide prescribing OST clinics to ensure that service users have access to treatment including Methadone/Buprenorphine, Naloxone and where appropriate provide benzodiazepine dependence and alcohol use disorder within the agreed timeframe set out in the National Substance Misuse Strategy and National KPIs. Work with the Regional Manager in relation to FOI requests and Complaint
Eligibility Criteria
Doctors applying for positions within the Addiction Service are required to:
Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Note1: Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher level papers. A pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable. Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational programme. The Leaving Certification Applied Programme does not fulfil the eligibility criteria.
