The Staff Nurse (Enhanced Role) will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, effective and person-centred care to patients admitted to the Acute Virtual Ward (AVW). The post holder will work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and implement coordinated care for acutely ill patients being cared for virtually in their home environment using remote health monitoring technology, clinical judgement, and evidence-based practice. The Staff Nurse (Enhanced Role) will provide holistic, person centred care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life for service users by enabling care through the use of technology.

The HSE has created six new health regions. Each region is responsible for providing both hospital and community care for the people in that area. Bringing community health services and hospitals together means we can take a more patient-centred approach to healthcare.

HSE Dublin and North East provides health and social care to North Dublin, Louth, Meath,

Monaghan and most areas of Cavan.

Candidates must have at the latest date of application:

• Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.

And

• Have at least 2 years post registration nursing experience within an acute care setting

And

• Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

And

• Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.

Please note that appointment to and continuation in posts that require statutory registration is dependent upon the post holder maintaining annual registration in the relevant division of the register maintained byBord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing Midwifery Board Ireland)
