Overview

The purpose of this post is to provide Nursing and Midwifery leadership in the implementation, adoption and optimisation of the National Shared Care Record (NSCR) across the Dublin North East region.

The post holder will ensure that the Nursing and Midwifery workforce is enabled to effectively contribute to and benefit from integrated digital care records.

The Digital Health Assistant Director of Nursing will act as a key conduit between NSCR programme teams, local implementation teams, and clinical services in the region, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of the shared care record.

The post holder will also support and implement other Digital for Care initiatives, digital capability and digital literacy projects as required.

Essential Criteria

Each candidate must at the latest date of application:

 

  1. Minimum Criteria

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

 

  • Are registered, or are eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division, Midwives Division or Mental Health Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).

                                                              And

  • Have 7 years post registration nursing/midwifery experience and 3 years nursing management experience at a minimum of CNM/CMM 2 level in an acute setting or community setting.

                                                              And

  • Have successfully completed a post registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider, which verified that the applicant has achieved a National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 or higher award maintained by Quality & Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) or can provide written evidence from the Higher Education Institute that they have achieved the number of ECTS credits equivalent to a Level 8 or higher in a health care management related area.

 

  1. Annual Registration

       i.) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).

                                                              And

       ii.) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

 

Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

 

Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character

 

Note1: Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher level papers. A pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable.  Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational programme.  The Leaving Certification Applied Programme does not fulfil the eligibility criteria.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge, skills, change management and stakeholder engagement and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office
  • Proven experience in the successful implementation of digital health or ehealth or other clinical systems into the clinical setting.
  • Strong change management and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Strong belief and passion for the digital transformation of healthcare
  • Commitment to quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Proactive management style and the ability to take initiative and responsibility
  • Well-developed organisational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities in order to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
