As a member of the front line renal nursing team within Cavan General & Monaghan Hospital’s, the staff nurse will deliver patient centred clinical care with respect and compassion. Provide clinical nursing leadership and ensure the provision of high quality care, consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic plan of the hospital. Displaying excellent clinical, interpersonal and communication skills, the staff nurse will have a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence based practice.
Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing Board (An Bórd Altranais) and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or be entitled to be so registered.
AND
Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Note: Post holders must maintain annual registration with An Bord Altranais

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Note1: Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher level papers. A pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable. Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational programme. The Leaving Certification Applied Programme does not fulfil the eligibility criteria.
