Overview

The Q & S Data Manager post is a key role with the responsibility for providing analytical and administrative support to the Head of Quality and Safety (Q&S) in the co-ordination of all activities relating to Q&S in the Hospital including the follow up of incidents, risk management & co-ordinating meetings.

 

The Quality and Safety Data Manager will work as an effective member of the Quality & Safety team, proactively contributing to the priorities of the Department.

 

The Quality and Safety Data Manager will assist staff in analysing and interpreting healthcare quality data, identify good practices for sharing, address issues and identify opportunities for improvement across the organisation.

 

The Quality and Safety Data Manager will supervise and support the work of the Administration staff within the area of responsibility as assigned by the Head of Quality and Safety.

Essential Criteria

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:


Have a minimum of two years experience as a clerical officer, at Grade IV level in the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004

 

And

 

Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland, (QQI).

 

And

 

Have obtained a pass (Grade D) in at least five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Leaving Certificate Examination, including Mathematics and English or Irish1.  Candidates should have obtained at least Grade C on higher level papers in three subjects in that examination

 

Or

 

Have completed a relevant examination at a comparable standard in any equivalent examination in another jurisdiction.          

 

And

 

Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and management ability, for the proper discharge of the office

 

 

Post Specific Requirements

 

  • Have worked in the acute adult hospital sector in Ireland for minimum of two years
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise and work well with a broad range of disciplines at all levels.
  • Ability to manage time and demonstrate a high level of organization skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel software
  • Proven track record of working with large data sets.
  • The successful candidate must be available to work primarily onsite, in the Quality and Safety Department at the Hospital.
