The post of Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Clinical Skills Facilitator – Theatre) is a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are: quality assurance, people management, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership. The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Clinical Skills Facilitator – Theatre) will deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the role set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse/Midwife Specialist Posts, 4th edition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008

Eligible candidates will be those who on the closing date for the competition

• Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered

                                                                  And

• Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role

                                                                  And

• Have Post graduate in operating theatre nursing

                                                      And

• Have at least 5 years post registration experience – two of which must be in Theatre nursing.

And

• Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

And

• Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.

Post Specific Requirements:

Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in relation to nursing practice as relevant to the role.
