The Staff Nurse (Mental Health) will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within the model of nursing care practiced in the relevant care setting. The staff nurse will provide holistic, person centred care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life for service users.
CAMHS provides assessment and treatment for young people up to 18 years and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Cavan/Monaghan
The Cavan Monaghan Mental Health Service is largely provided through a community based approach underpinned by a bio-psychosocial model and a recovery philosophy delivered by specialist Multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) which include Child & Adolescence, General Adult, Mental Health Services for the Elderly, Community Rehabilitation Service (CRS) and Mental Health Intellectual Disability (MHID). These specialist teams include: Home Base Treatment Teams, Assertive Outreach Teams, Out-Patient Clinics, Day Hospital services, residential units / staffed hostel and group home settings. The service has two approved centres one under the Mental Health Act. The service philosophy is based on the principles of recovery and service user / family participation. There are two approved centres which form part of the inpatient service and are governed by the Mental Health Act, Acute Psychiatric Unit Cavan General Hospital and Blackwater House, St. Davnet’s Campus Monaghan.

The Louth Meath Mental Health Service is focused on a quality, recovery orientated approach to Mental Health service provision through specialist Multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) which include Child & Adolescence, General Adult, Mental Health Services for the Older Persons and Community Rehabilitation Team Community based Mental Health Services include: Home Base Treatment Teams, Assertive Outreach Teams, Out-Patient Clinics, Day Hospital services, 24 hour community residences, nursing specialist services and Advanced Nurse Practitioner services. There are two Approved Centres under the Mental Health Act 2001 within its catchment area which are subject to Mental Health Commission inspection, the Acute Psychiatric Unit Drogheda Department of Psychiatry and rehabilitation unit in St. Ita’s Ward, St. Brigid’s Hospital, Ardee.
