Overview

  • To provide business planning support to the Executive Management Team at Cavan & Monaghan Hospitals and Clinical Directorates in the operational and strategic development of Services at Cavan & Monaghan Hospitals.
  • To provide leadership on all aspects of scheduled care and unscheduled care to achieve KPI’s
  • To provide operational management of clinical administration staff and relevant areas as designated.
  • To deputise for the Director of Operations as required.
  • The Business Manager will occupy a permanent position in the General Management Department within Cavan and Monaghan Hospitals. The successful candidate will work closely with contracted and non-contracted personnel and will provide leadership to a range of clinical and support service departments and also support to Executive Team members.
  • To provide business continuity and resilience planning support to the Executive Management team at Cavan & Monaghan Hospital and Clinical Directorates in the operational and strategic development of Services at Cavan & Monaghan Hospital.
  • To inform the development and maintenance of Major Incident and Internal emergency plans. To ensure testing and training exercises are carried out.
  • To work with all departments within the hospital to ensure Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity plans are in place.

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition have the following experience as relevant to the role

 

  • Proven track record of leading and delivering projects on time that are innovative and drive improvement in a health care setting or related service. 

AND

  • Proven, documented experience of complex data interrogation and statistical analysis in a multi-faceted organisation including high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to deliver analytical outputs to a high standard.

AND

  • Have a Clinical Understanding and Knowledge of Acute hospital Services

AND

  • A demonstrated record of supporting the delivery of change and experience of managing and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. 

AND

  • Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office.

AND

  • Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to ongoing Professional Development.

Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

 

Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

 

 

Post Specific Requirements 

  • Operational knowledge of a hospital with proven track record in leadership and managing change projects
  • IT skills relevant to the role
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
