The successful candidate will work as a main grade Social Worker on a designated acute ward in Connolly Hospital. Whilst working in tandem with designated multi-disciplinary team members, they are responsible to the contribution and development of the medical Social Work department also. Their role is to help patients and their families with any psychological, emotional, social or practical difficulties during their hospital stay and care planning for transition back into community based living. Promoting Social Work practice across the hospital and all disciplines is integral to this role. Contributing to positive patient care planning and experience is essential. The successful candidate must demonstrate strength in managing a fluctuating caseload whilst providing quality of care to those they support, optimising their physical, mental and emotional health during their hospital stay.

Note1: Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher level papers. A pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable. Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational programme. The Leaving Certification Applied Programme does not fulfil the eligibility criteria.
