Overview

The post holder is responsible for the delivery and implementation of a range of generalist HR services within Cavan/ General Hospital and Monaghan Hospital and the provision of advice and guidance on HR and ER issues in order to support the Hospitals and the broader Dublin and North East Region in the achievement of its business objectives.

 

Providing guidance on the Regional HR strategy and policy direction and governance on people related matters to influence, monitor and support the changing structure and workforce with a focus on change management, leadership and development support.

 

Provide HR support and guidance in the delivery of the people and organisational strategy in line with government policy and the Health Services People Strategy to ensure the orderly and integrated development of services consistently across the two hospitals.

Organisational Context

The HSE has created six new health regions. Each region is responsible for providing both hospital and community care for the people in that area. Bringing community health services and hospitals together means we can take a more patient-centred approach to healthcare.

 

HSE Dublin and North East provides health and social care to North Dublin, Louth, Meath, Monaghan and most areas of Cavan. 

 

HSE Dublin and North East Region includes the following hospitals;

  • Beaumont Hospital
  • Cavan General Hospital
  • Connolly Hospital
  • Louth County Hospital
  • Monaghan General Hospital
  • Mater Misericordiae University Hospital
  • Our Ladys Hospital Navan
  • Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital
  • Rotunda Hospital

Essential Criteria

Candidates must possess on date of application;

  • 5 years + senior human resource management experience encompassing workforce planning, recruitment, employee/ industrial relations, performance management, succession planning, HR data/ KPI’s, training and development.
  • Experience of working with multiple unions and negotiating with unions.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR and IT systems – SAP, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills with technical ability to present data in a timely and professional manner
  • Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office.
  • A relevant third level qualification is essential.

Post Specific Requirments

  • The post holder must have access to appropriate transport to meet the requirements of the role, including travel between sites as needed.
  • Flexibility with regard to working hours so demands of the post will be met
