To provide professional / clinical leadership in the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Assessment Unit and Minor Injury Unit. To oversee the management of resources including staffing and staff development. To facilitate communication across the healthcare teams.
The CNM 3 post has a pivotal role in service planning and development, co-ordinating and managing activity and resources within the clinical area.
The CNM3’s responsibilities include:
The CNM3 plays a key role in providing clinical and professional leadership and supporting and promoting Nursing values. The CNM3 will support CNM2s to ensure the achievement and operationalisation of service initiatives and the strategic goals of nursing.
There is currently one Specific Purpose whole-time post available in this location. The successful candidate may be required to work in any service area within the vicinity as the need arises.
This campaign is a confined campaign for internal staff members currently working in Cavan and Monaghan Hospital
This campaign will run in compliance with the Code of Practice prepared by the Commission for Public Service Appointments (CPSA).

Candidates must have at the latest date of application:
Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Are registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.
And
(ii) Have at least 5 years post registration full time (or an aggregate of 5 years post registration full time) experience of which 2 years (or an aggregate of 2 years post registration full time experience) must be in the speciality area of Emergency or Acute Medical Assessment Nursing.
And
(iii) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role
And
(iv) Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
And
(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
2. Annual Registration
Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).
And
Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
3. Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render and efficient service.
4. Character
