The purpose of this Clinical Nurse Manager II/Clinical Nurse Specialist Respiratory Department post is to: co-ordinate, manage and lead the development and delivery of Respiratory services.

 

Respiratory Department is a specialised service offering supportive treatment and diagnostic testing and follow up of a wide variety of Respiratory conditions both acute and chronic. 

The CNM 2 will support respiratory clinics, biologic clinics, ward based reviews, patient and staff education and support teams as required .

 

The CNM II/CNSp. will deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the role set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse/Midwife Specialist Posts, 4th edition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008 The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for co-ordinating, managing and leading the development and delivery of Respiratory services within Connolly Hospital based on a Monday to Friday basis.

Essential Criteria

Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience etc.

 

Eligible candidates will be those who on the closing date for the competition

 

 

  • Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered

 

                                                                      And

 

  • Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role

 

 

Annual Registration

  • On appointment, practitioners, must maintain live registration on the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann)

 

                                                                      And

 

  • Practitioners must confirm annual registration with the NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate [PSAC]
  • Have at least 5 years post registration experience – two of which must be in the area of Respiratory Nursing

 

                                                                             And

 

  • Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

                                                                             And

 

  • Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.

                                                             And

  • Post graduate qualification in Respiratory Nursing speciality is preferable or plans to commit to completing same as part of their professional development would be ideal .
  • Stand Alone Module in respiratory nursing or experience with Bipap preferable
